The ACGME continues to illuminate the systems based care competency. An increasingly important topic in this sphere is patient handoffs. Patient handoffs at year end of residency may be a particularly risky window for primary care patients. The attached poster addressing this important topic was presented at the American Academy of Internal Medicine program in Anaheim in October 2011 by Pincavage et al. An expanded version was subsequently published online in the Journal of General Internal Medicine in May 2012. An abstract and access to the published article are available at http://www.springerlink.com/content/u84jm5r863285778/
